Before replacing the board

Logic board damaged.
There are options.

A board failure does not mean lost data. It means additional work. And that additional work is exactly what we do. We work directly on the logic board using micro-soldering equipment and precision electronic diagnostics.

Important: read this before authorising a board replacement

In Macs with T2, M1, M2 or M3 chips, the SSD data is encrypted with keys tied to the hardware of that specific board. If the original board is replaced without extracting the data first, those keys disappear and the data becomes unrecoverable. Contact us before authorising any board replacement.

Symptoms of board failure

  • Black screen with no response
  • Charging indicator but won't boot
  • Repeated kernel panic
  • Visible short circuit or burning smell
  • Failure after power surge or lightning strike

Our process

  • Board damage analysis with oscilloscope
  • Identification of failed components
  • Data extraction from integrated storage
  • Delivery before any repair work
  • No data — no diagnosis charge

Questions about logic board failure

Data recovery and Mac repair are separate services. We focus on the data. If you want to repair the hardware afterwards, iRepairs — our parent group — can assess the device repair.

Not necessarily. Apple diagnoses hardware with the aim of repairing or replacing it. A board failure that is "irreparable" from Apple's perspective may still have the data completely intact and accessible to us.

If the board cannot contribute to the recovery process, we work directly with the storage module where technically possible. Success depends on the model and type of damage, and we explain this transparently before you commit.
